BEST, Board of European Students of Technology, is a voluntary and politically unaffiliated non-profit organization. Since 1989 we provide communication, co-operation and exchange possibilities for students all over Europe.
Founded in 1996, BEST Porto is a Local BEST Group based in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, but also with representation in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto.
Currently, BEST Porto has about 80 active members and organizes local and international events, reaching about 11.000 students. As part of this community, we strive to create opportunities for personal and professional growth through complementary education, career support, and cultural exchange.
The BEST Symposium on Education (BSE) is an event that creates a platform for students, professors, researchers, and industry representatives to discuss educational matters while aiming to improve higher education in Europe. This year's topic is Engineering Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Transformation.
All the knowledge acquired during this Symposium will be presented at leading European conferences, raising new opportunities for collaboration and inspiring innovative research directions across the field.
This event brings together motivated experts and students from all over Europe to rethink engineering education in an AI-driven world.
Through inspiring discussions, interactive workshops, and collaborative activities, participants will explore how AI is reshaping learning environments and the skills engineers need for the future.
Check the schedule of the event below and discover in the guide everything you need to know before coming!
Alongside the academic programme, you'll enjoy a rich cultural exchange, meet amazing people from across Europe, and create unforgettable memories together while discovering Porto and experiencing Portuguese culture.
This course is intended for higher education students from courses related to technology (Engineering or Sciences), curious about how Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way future engineers learn, think, and create.
The participants will be selected through a motivational letter, in which they show certain information about themselves (such as originality, interest in the topic given and disposition to have fun and meet new people) and also through answering some questions in their motivational letter.
The participants will have to pay a fee with a maximum value of 80€. It covers accommodation, transportation and meals (three meals per day, at least one of them hot) throughout the entire course. The arrival and departure costs are the responsibility of each participant.
